“It is more important to click with people, than to click the shutter.” Alfred Eisenstaedt
I read this quote not too long ago and it really kind of encompasses the way that I try to operate. Portrait photography for me is about connecting with people and letting that show through their photos. Over the years I’ve done a lot of modeling photography, and there’s a lot of that style that has crossed over for me into portraits. I hate labels on work because I sometimes don’t know how to label things. Where my passion in photography resides is when I get to creatively capture work that paints a picture of who someone is. I love to do that with b&w film photography because it’s not about bright colors and distractions, it’s about the person, and they are the showcase.
