The religious sign series is one I’d contemplated doing for a very long time. Growing up in the South, I was raised seeing these signs. Most people kind of eye roll when seeing them. A lot of my photography work has religious undertones to it because Spirituality has always been important to me and hypocrisy has always been a huge pet peeve to me. For years my wife and I have seen signs and talked about them and just what was meant by them. Or what people actually think they will accomplish by being so hateful with some of the rhetoric. Not ALL religious signs have that behind them. I have seen some where it seems people have good intentions but most seem to give off the feeling of superiority. We see these everyday and it’s my intent with this series to put it more forefront to not just be a roll your eyes and ignore it kind of thing. We need to think about intentions behind the things we do.
